Mammalian cells
Mammalian cell cultures are commonly used because of their ease of maintenance and genetic modifiability. They are easy to disrupt as only a thin membrane seperates the cell contents from the extracellular environment. Our adjustable and precise high pressure technology enables the the milder conditions required to preserve the purity and yield of the cell contents.
Insect cells
Insect cells used in conjunction with the baculovirus expression vector system is fast becoming a popular platform for for recombinant protein production.
Our high pressure technology may offer several advantages when compared to other techniques - see below.
Our High Pressure Homogenizers
Use of our specialist Cell Homogenizer to disrupt Sf9 insect cells to generate a lysate for use in protein purification.
Improved yield of cell contents and easier downstream processing.
Temperature control both pre-processing and after cell disruption.
Continuously adjustable pressure from 1,500 psi (100 bar) to 60,000 psi (4200 bar).
Easy to use, scale-up and sterlize with low ongoing costs.
